Cal Poly So Far

September 17th, 2011, I walk up the stairs of Fremont to my future home with mixed feelings of bitterness for leaving my hometown, but at the same time excited for the new one that awaited me. After being here for a little over one week has really been a fun experience through meeting new people and finally getting a hint of what its like to be on my own. The dorms can be a little crowded at times because I'm in a triple, but I get along with my roommates so it's definitely worth it.
Signing up for an agriculture major with absolutely no prior background worried me at first. But after sitting through the classes for a few times, I started to enjoy and take interest in the subject. I've always liked milk and steak so my dairy science class was a fun way to see where they came from. My horticulture class is full of notes and lectures, but at the same time I'm not uninterested like I was in high school. I am engulfed in what the professor has to say and hope to extended my branches deep within the roots of my future career.

  1. I am really glad to have found another person in ag who also did not come from an ag background. Isn't it interesting to have such a different perspective than everyone else who did come from ag backgrounds? I like to think that it will be to our advantage in the coming years. :)
Your post was really nicely written, and it took me a while of reading through other posts until I found one that was interesting enough to respond to. I can't wait to see what else you will write!
